Marine Digest-It uses a proprietary blend of bacteria and enzymes to do the work of breaking down solid waste inside your tank and eliminating odors. The sludge inside your holding tanks is a perfect food source for the bacteria that powers Marine Digest-It. Once the bacteria encounters the sludge (feces, urine, and toilet paper), it becomes active and begins to eat. As the bacteria works, it produces enzymes. These enzymes help break the waste down into more easily digestible portions for the bacteria so they can completely eat and digest the waste, leaving you with sludge-free, fresh smelling tanks.
The bacteria-enzyme blend in Marine Digest-It is also specially formulated to force out the bad, odor-creating bacteria (anaerobic) and replace it with good bacteria (aerobic) so sewer odors are eliminated at their source without using any masking agents or strong fragrances.

"I've been using the Marine version of Digest-It since it came out (used the RV version before that). When used as directed, no odors and no pump-out issues despite living aboard and using the heads regularly. A great product and seems to be effective even when we're on a salt water flush."

"Very pleased to see a salt-water-compatible Digest-It! Switched over from the freshwater version over a month ago and no change in its effectiveness against odors and sludge. Nice to have a quality tank treatment that will work regardless of whether we're on fresh or salt flush. The only negative is that this formulation is much "thinner" than the freshwater version. When shaken before use, it tends to "foam" in the bottle and then dribbles down the side of the bottle when poured. A minor inconvenience at worst."
"Great stuff! Glad there's now a formulation that works in both salt and fresh tanks. Only downside is that it foams when shaken. Makes it difficult to be sure everything is well mixed before dispensing. A minor inconvenience for no tank odors and no sludge buildup."
"I only clean the toilets in our Back Cove 41 with Scrub-It Toilet Bowl Cleaner, pour Marine Digest-It in the black water tank after every pump out and Clean-It Black Tank Deep Cleaner 2X/year - generally when the boat will be sitting for 2-3 weeks - to give the tank a good clean out. I have not had any issues with our black water system. I rely on my Unique Marine enzymes!"
"We've been using Marine Digest-It for several years and it keeps our tanks quite clean and easy to pump-out. Recently we were on a trip and I ran out so bought a container of the Orange Citrus-Pods at Wally-World. I though that they would be great, much easier than measuring out liquid each time. The first few treatments were great, just drop in a pod and it said that it would make the poo smell like oranges! After about a month, I opened the container, and found that I had a mound of orange powder intermixed with globs of goo. Dampness had gotten in and dissolved the pod covers. What a mess! Also when pumping out I noticed that I had a lot of undissolved paper coming out of the tank that I didn't have with the Marine Digest-it. As for making the poo smell like oranges? Not so much! It still smelled like poo! So, back to Marine Digest-it! I whish that Unique would come out with an "Ultra-Concentrate" version in the self measuring bottle for Marine Digest-It like they have for the RV version. It would make using it much easier and reduce storage space on the boat. Great Product, highly recommended!"
"Works very well! My tank gets flushed out every time it’s full and still had a smell every time we flushed. We have a vacuum flush system. We’ve always used the blue stuff (no names) it was ok but after the first flush out with Marine digest wow it was really cleaning it out! After the second flushing the smell total went away! Since then and it’s been only a couple of weeks it still seems to be working! I recommend this 100% ! No photos who wants to see a toilet 😳"
