can this product be used for gray tanks?

Yes, RV Digest-It is designed to treat black and gray tanks. You'll just add 2 oz. to your black tank and 2 oz. to your gray tank each time you treat your tanks.

I just opened my first jug of digest-it liquid and I am very disappointed by how strong the scent is. Does the powder form have the same amount of perfume in it?

I think that's honestly the first time I've heard that in the 10+ years I've worked here! No hate on our end AT ALL; we totally understand that many people want as little fragrance as people! If i bought RV Digest last year. Than the product sat in my garage all winter. Is the product still good to use this year?

Great question! All of our products have a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacturing. To find the date your product was manufactured, look at the first 6 digits of the code stamped on the bottle. This is the date it was produced (MM/DD/YY). If your product is older than 2 years, don’t assume it’s a lost cause. We keep retains of every batch we make, going back 15+ years, and the products still work to their full capacity. It’s highly likely that yours will too - even if it is older than 2 years. Hopefully that helps!

How much of the Digest-it Liquid treatment would you use in a 300g black holding tank?

Hi Amy, Thank you for reaching out! :) I'm not too sure if you mean a 300 black tank in an RV or a 300 gallon black in a boat - each one has a different answer so please find both below: - 300 RV black tank: For this large of an RV black tank, you'll need anywhere between 15 - 20 ounces of RV Digest-It. The tank is large and would need quite a bit of treatment after every dump! - 300 Boat black tank: Our [Marine Digest-It](https://uniquecampingmarine.com/collections/marine-products/products/marine-digest-it) would be a better option here than would the RV Digest-It. It's specifically geared toward larger boat holding tanks and would require 1 ounce per 10 gallons. For a 300 gallon boat tank, you would need 30 ounces of Marine Digest-It per treatment. How much product do you put in a 10 gallon holding tank?

For smaller holding tanks such as yours, we generally recommend starting with a scoop of [the powder variation of our RV Digest-It Holding Tank Treatment](https://uniquecampingmarine.com/collections/rv-products/products/rv-digest-it-powder-treatment). This is solely because with the powder variation, you can start by adding one dose directly to the black tank and then easily scale back the amount you use, if needed. Following this, you should hopefully be able to find an amount that works for your particular usage! That being said, if you really want to use the liquid version of RV Digest-It there are no problems! With what we've seen for the liquid, I’d start with two capfuls in the holding tank and see how that works for you. From there I’d scale up or down until you land on the perfect amount. I'm sorry I can't be more exact here, smaller tanks are finicky in that you just have to test and see what will work best for you! Do you recommend using the three products together?

Generally, people tend to use RV Digest-It and the Toilet Cleaner together as regular treatments for their toilet and tanks! If you're looking to use RV Digest-It along with the Tank Cleaner for black tanks or the Sensor Cleaner for black tanks then again, that is definitely safe to do but it may not be necessary! Both Tank Cleaner and Sensor Cleaner work perfectly well on their own to solve either a problem with clogs or with sensors. How many gallons of waste is one pod able to treat

Hi Ken, thank you for reaching out! One pod is generally used to treat a 40 gallon tank. If you have anything smaller, this single pod would generally be completely fine as well. For larger tanks, you can double up on pods if need be! A 120 gallon tank, for example, would be almost 3x as big as the 40 gallon tank so we would recommend using 3 pods instead of 1!
